A: Settlement account is the bank account the merchant wants the payment to go to. Charging account is the bank account the bank may take their money from. Usually these accounts are the same.
How does Payment Express handle Refund Transactions?
A: A refund transaction transfers (refunds) money from the Merchant account to a cardholder account. This transaction is used for example, when goods are returned or in other circumstances at the discretion of the merchant. Payment Express needs to be configured to allow refunds for the merchant account.
Contact Internet Infobahn to accomplish this. Once correctly configured, the application needs to specify a transaction type of "R" to generate a refund transaction. A Data Entry client that provides a refund capability is available
Does my application need to retain the original card number in order to process a completion transaction?
A: NO. Do not store card or expiry details, rather store just the AuthCode exactly as returned by a successful Auth transaction. To Complete the transaction and settle funds, send a Complete transaction with the AuthCode contents. The AuthCode is up to 64 characters of information and is a required input for Completion transactions.
What currencies are supported by Payment Express?
A: Currently Payment Express supports NZD and AUD. US and other foreign currencies are technically possible, but require the merchant to establish a merchant relationship with a foreign acquirer.
Can we get our money from the cards deposited to an account other than own bank account? Can we set it up so that that all proceeds are deposited to an account other than our own - our suppliers bank account for example?
A: Yes. Settlement may be made to a bank account other than your own. The "Merchant" relationship remains between yourself and your bank though. Contact your bank for further details.
How does currency conversion work? We are charging $NZ20 - what will Americans see on their credit card bill? Are they charged the equivalent, but in US dollars, or what?
A. The customer will see NZD$20.00 billed as the equivalent amount in their home currency, in this case US$. For further information, please contact your bank merchant representative.
How can transactions be performed using a specified currency?
A. You need to setup a terminal for the currency needed. Currently either NZD or AUD is supported. Use the Account field to select the appropriate terminal. A given terminal cannot process more than one currency, but you can select from multiple terminals from a payment express server.

A. Transaction date is the date of authorisation, date settlement is the date that the transaction is applied to the merchant bank account.
